The MPS Community Education
Department provides recreational and learning opportunities for Minneapolis young people and adults, within
and beyond school walls. The department
also connects with outside volunteers and community partners to expand and to
deepen the possibilities for the productive and healthy use of leisure time.
Links at the MPS Community
Education portal of the MPS website provide information on accessing services,
adult enrichment programs, adult education classes, Minnesota Child Care, youth
programs, reserving space in district facilities, and community partners. Special photo and text feature the Aquatics
Program and City of Lakes Americorps (which provides volunteers for assistance
to students in reading).
