The Minneapolis Public Schools Office of the General Counsel is led by Amy Moore, a graduate of the University of Minnesota Schools of Law.  Moore and staff handle the legal affairs of the Minneapoois Public Schools, including issues pertinent to compliance with state and federal mandates, expulsions and transfers, special education, and civil rights.  Policy issues for which the leagal staffhas responsibility include those relating to community relations, administration, business, personnel, students, teaching, and learning, facilities, and the MPS Board of Education.

The Office of Equality & Civil Rights is tasked with working collaboratively with all our stakeholders in enforcing nondiscriminatory and equal treatment for all our students, employees, parents, and other stakeholders.
