Training of Minneapolis Public Schools
Associate
Superintendents
Associate Superintendents at the
Minneapolis Public Schools have supervisory responsibility over the principals
at school sites. Their training is
similar to that of superintendent Ed Graff and those officially in key
positions within the academic division such as ex-Deputy Chief of Academics,
Leadership, and Learning Cecilia Saddler and Executive Director of Teaching and
Learning Aimee Fearing.
The role of the Associate Superintendents
is very important. These figures by job
definition have responsibility for maintaining high expectations for student
achievement in a rigorous academic program.
Of the Associate Superintendents given below, Ron Wagner and Brian
Zambreno have oversight duties for specified preK-8 schools; Carla Steinbach-Huther for two years had
responsibility for middle schools, now overseen by LaShawn Ray, and high
schools, now supervised by Shawn harris-Berry.
Training for the Associate Superintendents
at the Minneapolis Public Schools is given as follows; included is the training for Carla Steinbach
Huther, who as of autumn 2019 is no longer employed by the Minneapolis Public
Schools; and for Lucilla Davila and Laura Cavendar, who for many years occupied
Associate Superintendent positions before returning to site principal
positions.
