updated facilities -- including a swimming pool -- offer students an
opportunity to continue their education with a community pathway from
elementary through high school. The citywide school has a cutting edge STEAM
education that will allow students to make the connection between the concepts
learned in class and how those concepts apply to the real-world. For students
to develop problem-solving skills, STEAM education starts with students

MPS
Online School is a virtual option for students in grades K-12
While
an online school option has been available for high school students for many
years, with the changes to teaching and learning brought on by the pandemic,
MPS is ensuring that an online option is available to a broader range of
students. Many students thrive with online learning.
MPS
Online School is like any other school with a community of students, teachers,
counselors, social workers and other support staff. Families must commit to the
whole year.

Northeast
Community School offers a well-rounded education focused on the whole child
Located
in the close-knit Northeast Minneapolis Audobon neighborhood, Northeast
Community is an International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP)
school. Northeast builds upstanding citizens through a rigorous, socially
conscious, culturally relevant curriculum that offers support for all students
during one of the most challenging times in a student’s life -- middle school.
Support is possible with the aid of two school counselors, two school social
workers, a school psychologist, student deans at each grade level, associate
educators for math and social emotional support, along with a mental health
program for students and families. With a focus on self-respect and personal
responsibility, Northeast staff and students value differences in the school
population and the society in which we all live. A Northeast education makes
sure students head to high school ready with 21st-century skills and able to
make practical connections between their studies and the real world.

Olson
Community School ensures students discover and maximize their brilliance
The road
to college success starts at Olson Community, located in North Minneapolis’
Shingle Creek neighborhood. At Olson, students join a learning environment
designed to instill them with intellectual, social and personal habits
necessary for success in high school and college. Beginning in Fall 2021, Olson
offers middle school Hmong Dual language programming. Olson, an
International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme, connects middle school
students with their brilliance, helping them understand themselves as
contributors to a thriving community. With an emphasis on student voice and
choice, an Olson education encourages students to explore where they are from,
who they are now, and who they are becoming.
