the charade,

the façade

of pretending

that you

For those on

street corners

those among the

many mourners

for those

lost

and the

heavy

cost

of

pretending

concern

while creating

conditions

for despair.

 

Know,

then,

all of you

fancied

democrats:

 

Too many of you

are merely

plutocrats

living with

disdain

off of other

people’s pain

earning your

salaries

while watching

from the

galleries

looking down

on those

whom you

abuse,

use,

but leave

hanging in the

air.
