Anishinabe Academy educates through an Indigenous lens
Families looking for a public school that honors American Indian culture
and language you need look no further. Located in Minneapolis’s Longfellow
neighborhood, Anishinabe Academy offers a small, welcoming environment with
staff who develop close relationships with students and their families.
Anishinabe Academy integrates and reclaims Dakota and Ojibwe identities,
cultures and languages through authentic academic experiences. American Indian
programming continues at Sanford and Northeast Middle Schools, and at South
High School’s All Nations program.

Magnet Schools
Citywide magnet schools welcome students from all neighborhoods across
Minneapolis. Magnet schools provide innovative programs focused on specific
themes such as the Arts, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and
Mathematics), STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics),
Dual Language, Montessori, and Global Studies and Humanities.
