Laura---

I am not surprised but deeply disappointed that you have not replied to my note concerning your ill-considered article, “The kids are doing ‘new math,’ and may be that’s a good thing” (Star Tribune, 7 April 2023).

I provided you a bevy of information and the prospect of conversing with the most knowledgeable researcher into the history and philosophy of education in the United States and the foremost expert as to the inner workings of the Minneapolis Public Schools.

This relegates you to the category of journalistic mediocrity to compare with your colleagues Mara Klecker, Anthony Lonetree, and Eder Campuzano and means that you share with them the characteristics of low intellectual curiosity, professional laziness, and low investigative instinct.

Together with these journalistic pretenders, you bear responsibility for the low information base of much of the United States citizenry and are complicit in perpetuating a wretched level of public education that produces the body politic.

I will be exploring these issues on my blog at http://www.newsalemeducation.blogspot.com .

Be well—

With best regards---

Gary
