Elementary (PreK and K-5 Schools)
Including MPS Online, there are 39 elementary
(Prek-5 and K-5) schools in the Minneapolis Public Schools.
Most of these schools have early childhood
programs; exceptions include Kenwood,
Kenny, Hale, Hiawatha, Howe, Lake Harriet Lower, Lake Harriet Upper, Lake
Nokomis Keewaydin, and Lake Nokomis Wenonah, none of which have early childhood
programs.
In addition to the early childhood programs at the
other elementary schools, there are also the Special Education Early Childhood
at Wilder program and the Mona Moede Early Childhood Center; the latter, located in the former North Star
Elementary School Building at 2406 Girard Avenue North, serves as headquarters
for Early Childhood Education in the Minneapolis Public Schools.
Profiles for each of these schools are as follows:

MPS Online School is a virtual option for students in
grades K-12
While an online school option
has been available for high school students for many years, with the changes to
teaching and learning brought on by the pandemic, MPS is ensuring that an
online option is available to a broader range of students. Many students thrive
with online learning.
MPS Online School is like any
other school with a community of students, teachers, counselors, social workers
and other support staff. Families must commit to the whole year.
