The invitation of the Minneapolis Public Schools (MPS) Board of Education to A. J. Crabill, of the Council of Great City Schools, to advise the board on the matter of the search for a new superintendent at a special meeting of the board at the Davis Center (MPS central offices) on Tuesday, 4 October 2022, demonstrates the cluelessness of the board in conducting that search.

 

The Council of Great City Schools (CGCS) was established in 1956.  Where are all of these great city schools that the CGCS has inspired?

 

In the presentation, Crabill offered rather mundane advice that district members should have been able to deduce for themselves.

 

And with the many failed school districts that appear on the list of 77 member districts of the Council of Great City Schools, why would anyone seek this entity’s advice?
