The following staff members are new to the Minneapolis Public Schools Department of Teaching and Learning, Department of Indian Education, and the Office of Black Student Achievement as of the 2020-2021 Academic Year.
Such staff members should be true scholars who believe in the importance of knowledge-intensive education. Instead, these departments and offices are inevitably filled with people who have received insubstantial academic training in departments, schools, and colleges of education.
Of the following, Erin Clarke’s master’s degree in geology from the University of Wisconsin and Molly Vasich’s bachelor’s degree in world languages from highly ranked Macalester College are the most impressive credentials. Otherwise, credentials are dominated by degrees conferred in education rather than subject area discipline programs.
Such staff bear the taint of having sat in the classrooms of those intellectual lightweights dubbed education “professors.”
Remember that knowledge-deficient, skill-deplete curriculum; and the teachers and administrators intellectually ruined by education professors; are the paramount reasons why those students who manage to graduate walk across the stage to receive a piece of paper that is a diploma in name only, and why one-third of those who go on to matriculate on college and university campuses need to take remedial classes.
Please carefully review and in so doing consider the insubstantial academic training of most of the following:
